SGBC Participates in Annual Fire Ant Festival

 

Donna NeSmithThe Fire Ant Festival is an annual event sponsored by the Ashburn-Turner County Chamber of Commerce. Held the fourth weekend in March, the festival includes a variety of activities from an art show and carnival to a 5k run, Miss Fire Ant pageant, and other family-friendly entertainment.

This year, SGBC partcipated in the festival in several different ways. Donna NeSmith, current Chamber president and employee of SGBC, was active in the festival promotion through TV appearances and speaking engagements at various civic organizations. The bank also sponsored and hosted the annual photo contest with received 200 entries from local photographers.
