Putting Our Best Foot Forward
Several local charities and schools in our area are in need of shoe donations –and that’s where South Georgia Banking Company (SGBC) is stepping in.
Throughout the month of October, SGBC will accept shoe donations at our branches located in Tift, Colquitt, Turner and Crisp counties. New or gently used shoes are preferred and can be dropped off at collection stations located in each branch’s lobby. All donations benefit charities and schools within each county. In Ashburn, Turner County Connection will receive the collected shoes and distribute them to schools in the community, DFACS and Coastal Plains EOAC as well as other organizations that have expressed a common need.
Turner County Connection is comprised of a team of collaborative partners including various civic clubs, charities, schools, councils and government organizations. With a focus on education, family, community and health, Turner County Connection is dedicated to improving the quality of life in our county. Their reach is widespread; therefore, shoe donations for men, women and children are greatly appreciated.
"The idea to host this shoe drive stemmed from our 2010-2011 marketing campaign ‘Partners in the Walk of Life,'" said Brinson Brock, City President of SGBC in Ashburn. "Banking relationships aren't just about deposits and withdrawals. We're concerned about the whole person, not just the financial side."
