South Georgia Bank Employees Speak to Middle and High School Students About Career Choices
Recently, City President Brinson Brock, Executive Assistant Donna Nesmith and Bank Credit Analyst Melba Brown were invited to speak to Mrs. Renee Hasty's classes about career choices and career preparation. We discussed important factors for success including a good education, solid work ethic, community involvement and person-to-person interaction. During the lively discussion, we stressed the importance of preparing early for the future and finding a mentor in your respective field of interest who can guide you as you go along. The students found it interesting that each of our bank employees prepared themselves a little differently for their current line of work. We helped the students explore options as we shared our experiences of working on the farm, attending techical and voctaional school as well as earning a college degree.
